I discovered Oxo can openers when the NY Times did a comparison and this one came out on top by a wide margin. Now it's all I use. It really grips the can, doesn't fall off, and the leverage is engineered in such a way that you don't have to have a death grip on the handles to get it to work. This one is for a friend who has yet to see the light--but he will! Seriously, these are real workhorses, last for years and years and do the job better than any other can opener I've ever tried. Get one!
