I bought this alarm clock for my boyfriend last Christmas because it was a good deal, but wow.... It is just a hunk of plastic, and now the alarm doesn't even work. We've tried setting it on buzzer and radio, and neither one will work. There are not many buttons on the stupid thing, so I know we aren't missing something. On top of that, the warranty is only 90 days. Hello, a receipt is good for 90 days. Emerson can't even insure their products will work for more than 3 months? I will not buy this brand again.

We purchased the alarm approx. 8 months ago. Once, the clock radio did not go off shortly after purchase, but we continued using it and it went off when set. However, at 4:30 am, this morning, an alarm as loud and sounding like a smoke alarm went off. My husband and (after only being asleep for two hours with our toddler) jumped out of bed and thought it was the security alarm. Scaring us to death, we ran down staircases and I almost fell down one and then tripped over the baby gate. The alarm stopped and then went off again and then the radio turned on. I unplugged it and will never use it again or buy another. I am exhausted this morning and had no idea it could make the noise that it did. I never want to experience this again, so it is going in the recycle bin.

I was late to work on monday because I had forgotten to turn on my alarm after sunday, so I needed something with a weekend setting. This fit the bill, it works as advertized, but it's better thaen that. It has a little battery so that if you get a brownout in the middle of the night it'll remember your settings. It's atomic so it sets the time automatically. It's easy to set and the buzzer is plenty loud. The snooze is easy to find and the display is big so I can see it without my glasses.

Only downside is that I have 2 other atomic clocks, my iphone and my casio watch, while they will agree within 0.1s, this clock has actually been off by a minute or so. I don't know if it's not just getting a signal or only bothers to sync every month, either way it's not a big deal.

The Broll works great. It simplifies getting the dirt to the truck in 5 gallon buckets for further processing. The guys can put the bucket in the Broll, and we can roll it over all sorts of area sooooo much easier than a hand truck, or anything else we have. It's my favorite new piece of equipment this year. What a back saver!!!

Purchased the Broll 5-Gallon Bucket Cart from GardenToolCompany.com. When I first saw it advertised on their site, I knew I had to get one, because my 1 1/2 acre garden has lots of rocks, and I'm constantly hauling buckets of them when clearing rows. They also make several accessories for the bucket cart to extend the versatility of the product. Broll's website states they're coming out with a double bucket hauler, for those who like to work! Great product which can be used for all kinds of things, only limited to your imagination. My only concern is the plastic ring which holds the bucket, and how well it will hold up to heavy loads, like rocks. I'd like to see the ring made out of good sturdy metal, but if it manages to lug around buckets full of rocks without snapping, then my concern is unwarranted. Terrific idea and well thought out product.

By the way, GardenToolCompany.com carries hand made garden tools from Denmark and Holland, the quality of which is phenomenal, given the cheap mass produced tools available at DYI stores and such. You'll pay more, but they will last a lifetime and actually do the job you bought them for.

I highly recommend this product. It simplifies any landscaping job where lifting or toting is required. The concept is so simple it is genius. Toting a 5 gallon bucket around can really put a strain on your back. This product eliminates that. Anything that makes my job easier in the garden is a winner in my book, and this product certainly qualifies.

I ordered a Breville juicer shortly prior to ordering these pop-molds. I enjoy juicing but needed a change of pace and pops are a great way to continue juicing while enjoying a frozen treat. Besides the store bought pops usually have flavors I don't like in the box and they get tossed out - I may as well just open my wallet before a trash receptacle and toss the money in. By manufacturing my own pops I save money, don't consume lots of processed sugars and artificial dyes and preservatives. trying to stay as natural as humanly possible these days.

This pop mold is solidly constructed of aluminum and plastic -- they have a good solid feel to them and form the pops in a familiar Popsicle shape. It can be a little difficult to remove formed pops but if you take your time and gently run some warm water over the containers the pops slip right out. It would be nice if I could find some Popsicle sleeves to place the finished product in. I noticed another reviewer is using baggies I may try that!

Let the pops set up some prior to inserting the wooden sticks they will position straighter. I placed my first set of wooden sticks to far down within the pops. About half way in is good -- enough to hold the frozen treat with sufficient stick remaining to have a handle.

I won't mention the movie -- but do you remember the one where the boy stuck his tongue to the metal pole during winter? -- well your fingers will do the same if they are wet or damp with the aluminum on these trays -- do keep your hands dry when removing from the refrigerator.

Lastly, this tray molds should last a lifetime but if for some unforeseen reason they do not [misuse or abuse] you can recycle the aluminum.
These Popsicle forms are a good value for your money and much less than those Tupperware ones which are smaller. I have the Tupperware ones from years past I was surprised to see they were still available for purchase. If you need or want the smaller size pops you can't go wrong with them either. We've had ours for approximately 40 years.

I bought a couple of these along with a paleta recipe book and used them a lot last summer. You must soak the wooden sticks before using them and you'll need to run the frozen mold under warm water for longer than you think to get them to release. Still, The end result is a great popsicle/paleta without the weird rocket or whatever shape home molds usually come in.

I ordered and received the Sage Full/Queen blanket and couldn't wait to try it out. The color was just as I expected and matched my bedroom perfectly. It was beautiful when I removed it from its packaging but then I washed it and the mess the blanket leaves is awful and unacceptable. I didn't get a lot of lint from the dryer trap because it all stuck to the blanket and then to my carpet, sheets and comforter. I've washed it three times trying to get all the fuzzies off but they just ball up, mat together and stick to the blanket. A lint roller won't remove them, neither will a lint brush. I even tried a small comb-No luck.

The blanket is soft and warm. I will probably keep it but I really wish someone would produce a coral fleece blanket that looks as good after it comes out of the wash as when it was new. Very disappointed but I really need the blanket and it serves it's purpose in keeping me warm-and for that I'll give it two stars.

I was smarter than the poor person who bought this in sage green, I selected deep red, so my mess was a nice pink.

Very warm, even the cats liked it at first .
Then it needed to be washed.
It leaked color, it left wads of wet pile in the machine, as it air dried in the apt (dont have a dryer)
pieces of pile fell onto the rug, requiring careful vacuuming.
With all this I should be able to live with it, but it shrunk, how? I dunno. But trying to cover yourself in this cold is a trick I have yet to master.
Both cats have turned their snoots up to laying on it.
My first encounter with anything fleece, and my last.

My husband is building cabinets for my kitchen and purchased the magnetic drawer slide tool to mount the drawer rollers. He is glad he did. !!!! The mounting took probably five minutes to install both rollers. He also purchased the rails to set the drawer on while he secured the rollers to the drawers. These two items are a breeze to use and sets the drawer perfectly in the center of the cabinet. This is a must if you want perfection for your cabinets.!! Extremely pleased. !!!!!!!

Works good for installing drawer slides in already installed cabinets ,and in the shop. Very heavy duty material, with strong magnets to hold the slides in place. I've used it on 3 jobs so far with face frame and frameless cabinets and speeds up install time a lot. Was well worth the price too.

I'm certainly no expert in the kitchen, but this has to be the most irritating, frustrating piece of crap I've ever encountered.

I'm a body builder, and need to meticulously weigh everything I eat. Not only does this thing make me look up or memorize the code for each food, enter it into the machine, and then press another button 4 times to finally get to protein, but then I get to sit there and watch the weight fluctuate up and down several grams while nothing is being added or taken away!

Most of the time I can take the batteries out, wait a few minutes, then try it again and get what I hope is an accurate measurement. But now when I enter any code, the display fades out completely, making this scale totally worthless.

Needless to say, my next scale will NOT be from Eat Smart!

I received this as a gift when I noted I was looking for another food scale after mine went on the blitz.

As a someone who coaches others how to lose weight, the first step we all know is accountability and weighing food intake so you know what you are consuming. The fact that this scale makes it easy to look up foods seemed like a dream scale.

As someone with a trained culinary background I also know an accurate scale is far better than measuring cups in baking.

So why the low rating?

To my confusion, after realizing I continued to get varied weights on the same item and innacurate weights from what the packaging of products stated, I began to compare weights with my neighbors scale (bear in mind packaging weights can vary from what is inside but this never could get even the weight of a known weight correct.)
So...I then looked at the manufacturer's description of the scale on the website and on Amazon.

Know why it's not accurate? It's only programmed with an accuracy level to 0.1 ounces. Is this the norm for food scales? No, but you do find it on some others. Many cheap once have an accuracy of 0.05 ounces. Twice as good as this expensive one.
In case of doubt, you'll find this on this product page which you may not know is not a great accuracy until you compare it to other scales...and most who buy this may not be chefs, but just needed calorie accuracy so they wouldn't know what to look for:

Calculate calories, carbs, fiber, sodium, fats, vitamin k and six other nutrients from thousands of packaged and 999 whole foods
White backlight with on/off button for conserving battery life
Memory Mode - save up to 99 entries for daily or weekly tracking
Weighs in grams (to nearest whole gram) and ounces (to nearest .1 ounce); Max weight 11 pounds

Inaccurate measurements equaling 500 calories per day equals 3,500 calories per week which is a pound gained per week. (3,500 calories is equal to one pound) While it would probably not add up to that much in variance, if I want a calorie scale I don't want the cheap ones to beat this one out in accuracy because accuracy is the most important aspect of a scale in order to accurately count calories.

I can buy a very cheap digital scale with an accuracy of 0.05 oz rather than 0.1 ounce resolution as this has.

That's just too high of a variance in weight for someone who is using it to get accurate calorie counts and if you aren't buying it for that, why would you pay so much more for the calorie calculator on it?

But I use it for baking a lot too. That kind of variance won't help me there either even though it's not huge, if the scale itself weighs in slightly inaccurate on top of that then we can get some big variances and that much variance in salt or yeast etc. is not what a baker wants either.

There are amazing calorie counters on smart phone apps as well as free ones on the internet. So for them to put the money into the calculator and a scale with high variance for this price rather than giving a more accurate scale seems very odd to me, except I would imagine most people wouldn't know to look.

So I returned this...and spent the next several weeks comparing scales. I got one with 0.05 accuracy and it can fit in a drawer, I have a calorie counting book and a phone app. While this was a free gift to me, paying a few and staying thinner is a better bet to me long term.

Do I love the calculator? I do. I think it's a brilliant idea but it attaching it to a poor scale lends it useless unfortunately. But I gave it an extra star for the calculator.

Another issue? They included packaged foods in the calorie listing. From coaching others in weight loss one of the first things they learn is how often the calories on food packaging changes. One frozen dinner changed the recipe 3 times in one year changing the calorie count as well. I've seen many low calorie items go up in calories in a few years. Crackers, chips...just loads of things. Major name brands.
So an updated phone app (and you could get a cheap scale that's more accurate and buy a used iphone for the cost of this and get free excersize videos on it too) that gets updated would do you better.

It also only has a 2 year warranty where I found many of the very cheap, more accurate scale had a 5 year warranty.

And it's bulky...I can't easily keep it in a shallow drawer to weigh foods by just opening my drawer and putting something atop it as I could in the past.

The past few weeks, I've been looking for a high quality, reliable, easy, and usable nutrition scale as a Christmas present for my mum, so, I too have scoured Amazon reviews but was stuck with indecision.

I was interested in the Salter models 1406 and 1450 and this EatSmart model.

I discounted the Salter 1450:
- screen looked crowded and difficult to read- fine for me, but my mum? and
- Although I liked the concept of an internal nutrition database that doesn't require you plug in codes, I read in reviews that it is actually tedious to enter foods into the button system- which is set up like a telephone dialing system so you'd have to press 3 three times in order to get the letter "F".

So, though a cool concept the dim and crowded screen and my mother's low technical savvy ways, made me decide to say good bye to this seemingly cool (and expensive) scale.

I also discounted the code-dependent Salter 1406:
- although the code book sounded fine, the information screen also looked dim, small, and crowded. Although I'm looking for a scale that can produce a lot of information, I want it to be clearly presented so it is easy and enjoyable to process.

Then I turned to the Eat Smart Digital Nutrition Scale:

- It works by a code book, so easier for my mum.
- I was also impressed by the clear presentation of the nutritional information into 3 easily readable values on a screen.
- I also thought my mum would benefit from the back-lit option.

However, I decided to ring EatSmart and see if they could fill in the remaining holes and see if I could feel more confident in making this purchase.

I am very impressed with the customer service: within 30 seconds I was talking to a representative who was a great source for information and seemed an expert on this specific model.

He described all 4 different screens:

1st screen shows: Calories/Carbs/Fiber
2nd screen shows: Sodium/Potassium/Magnesium
3rd screen shows: Total Fat/Sat Fat/Cholesterol
4th screen shows: Calcium/Protein/Vitamin K

I actually prefer going through 4 different screens to a crowded screen, and I think my mum will too.

I also asked about a few items to see if they were in the code book. After reading a review that complained that sugar and baking soda are not in the code book, I asked about those. (Hoping that perhaps they had revised the code book).

The representative said that baking soda is not in the code book but said it is very easy to figure out the nutritional information for anything at all- and we went through it step-by-step.

He suggested:

Step 1: Look the food up on the USDA nutrition tool on the website I beleive it is this webpage: [...]
Ex. I looked up Raw Sugar

Step 2: Select measure of food for one serving; and how many of desired nutritional values are in it- and write it into the provided space at the back of the code booklet so you don't have to look it up again.

Ex. I selected 1 individual packet, which is 5 g. and found that there are 4.9 carbs.

Step 3: Enter it into the nutrition calculator in the scale and measure the amount of food. It would then calculate the nutrition value for the amount of food I would be using.

Ex. I put sugar from 1.75 packets on the scale and am told that there are 8.575 Carbs.

It sounds like a fairly easy process, and even though it may throw my mum for a loop at first, I'm sure with my help we'll get her used to that.
